REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • 3 years of job-related experience as a database developer including design, configuration, and maintenance of databases is required • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent area of study is required. • 3 – 5 years of experience in data warehousing is required • Managed Care Claims or Health Insurance experience a plus. • Demonstrated proficiency in the following technologies and features: o Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) o Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) o Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) o SQL Performance Monitor (PerfMon) o XML Technologies • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access • Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) for release management is preferred • Experience creating and maintaining Data Dictionaries is required • Experience creating written requirements is required • Experience working from written and oral requirements is required
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: • Extract data from systems and transform for the use in a Data Warehouse • Provides support for data warehouse systems and related data marts. • Assists in the creation of data design, database architecture, and data repositories. • Ensures data accuracy and root cause analysis for inconsistencies in data. • Develop and maintain coding extraction, transformation, and toading (ETL) programs • Maintain, investigate, and resolve issues with current SSIS\ETL packages and reporting services • Analyzing the designed architectural model for optimal, performance, security standardization, and supportability related to the physical implementation of any changes being made. • Sharing data knowledge with others in the organization • Researches, validates, and analyzes data for monitoring and reporting, strategic & tactical support, and research
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: • Identify quality improvement opportunities and submit documented suggestions to supervisors • Collaborate with internal and external business and technology partners to understand business requirements and perform data analysis. • Undertake a complete project through the entire SDLC of collecting requirements, recommending and designing a solution, creating project plans with estimates, writing SSIS and Stored Procedures, Building Reports, Testing and Deploying relevant code. • Work independently with your team with minimal guidance from your direct supervisor • Continuously explore and keep abreast of new technology and changing programming languages, techniques, and best practices • Assists with Department responsibilities. • Perform other job-related duties as directed by the Manager of Value Stream Intelligence • Able to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet departmental needs.
