Daytona Employment is currently recruiting for a Permitting Assistant with 3-5 year's Administrative and Permitting experience.

General Description

The position is responsible for customer service related to permitting function of the department. Answers basic code and permitting questions, accepts and processes permit applications and related fees; and assists in the purchase orders and payments processes for the department. Reports to the department's Administrative Supervisor. Must be able to work and have good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

Nature of Work

The employee solves problems in situations where most problems have occurred before and their solutions are familiar. Work involves moderately complex, relatively standardized tasks, processes and operations following established laws and procedures. Work is assigned by supervisor who provides general guidance allowing for employee planning of procedures and methods to attain objective. Employees in this class maintain substantial public contact and are also responsible for the intake of permit applications to ensure completeness prior to review by technical and professional staff. Errors in work may cause inaccuracies in reports, records, or technical data resulting in inaccurate or incomplete information. Employees in this classification perform both routine and non-routine duties as dictated by the nature of the work promoting efficient and organized operation of department activities.
